Pakistan on Monday morning witnessed another proud moment as its star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, bagged a gold medal for the country during the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Arshad Nadeem beat India’s Neeraj Chopra’s Tokyo Olympic throw of 87.58m (Gold) and World Athletics Championship throw of 88.13m.
The Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final of the javelin throw competition in Tokyo on Wednesday. It is the first time any Pakistani athlete has qualified for the final of any track and field event. Moreover, Arshad competed in group B, where he had to throw at least 83.5m to qualify for the final.
