Ministry of Climate Change to create 200,000 new green jobs

The Ministry of Climate Change plans to create 200,000 new green jobs by the end of 2021. Projects will be designed to support youth, women, and local communities. The ministry announced that the community in Sindh would participate in a project to create green jobs about Lake Manchar. The Dera Ismael Khan project also aims to create green jobs for residents through nature-based solutions.

Following discussion with higher authorities, the ministry has decided to initiate project with help of the Green Stimulus Initiative. Moreover, a financial model for this initiative is financed by the Ecosystem Restoration Fund has been developed. By the end of this year, the number of green jobs will reach 200,000, and it will also continue to grow in the future.
