Separated during Partition, Indian citizen Sikka Khan (78) was warmly welcomed when he arrived at the house of his brother Siddiq Khan (80) in Faisalabad. Sikka (real name is Muhammad Habib) and Siddiq Khan were separated during the Partition of India. Their father was killed in the violence, Siddiq and his sister moved to Pakistan while Sikka was left in India along with his mother.
A seven-year-old Pakistani girl has won a gold medal at the International Jiu-Jitsu Competition 2022. Anayah Naveed Dar represented Pakistan in the under 28 weight category and defeated Russian player Latifa in the first match. Later, she defeated Shamsa of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as its candidate for Punjab chief minister after incumbent Usman Buzdar presented his resignation to the prime minister. Prime minister’s aide on political communication, Shahbaz Gill, made the announcement on Twitter. The development comes less than an hour after the opposition formally tabled a no-confidence resolution against PM Imran in the National Assembly.

An irregularity has been found in disbursement of funds under Ehsaas Scholarships initiative of the federal government for students in Karachi University. It has emerged that Rs100 million funds were utilized for paying salaries of the employees of the varsity. Each student had to be given Rs40,000 under scholarship, however, KU has not disbursed the amount to students.

The results of a survey based on the World Bank’s (WB) data, showed Pakistan as the country with the lowest unemployment rate in the entire region. According to the findings, 4.3 percent Pakistanis were unemployed, while regional rival and immediate neighbor India had the highest unemployment rate at 8%. Maldives’ unemployment rate was found to be 6.3% and Sri Lanka’s 5.9%
