Malik Riaz’s UK assets worth £190 mn to be returned to Pakistan

As a result of an investigation, the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom has agreed to a settlement worth £190 million with the family of property tycoon Malik Riaz. The assets will now be returned to the state of Pakistan. The assets worth £190 million include a UK property  valued at approximately £50 million and all funds in the frozen accounts.

Akcent served with ‘fantastic tea’ by DG ISPR

Romanian music artist Akcent (Adrian Sina) in his meeting with Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Asif Ghafoor was served with what he termed ‘fantastic tea’.  In a video posted on Twitter, the musician can be seen standing in front of a board of Pakistan’s victories including a picture of the captured Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has topped global fashion search engine, Lyst’s list of most powerful dressers after she released her charity capsule of work attire to benefit unemployed women in the U.K. According to Lyst, her outfits sparked a 216% increase in searches for similar pieces. The Club Monaco dress she wore sold out in 24 hours with searches for the dress spiking to 570%.

Chitral stole the show at this year’s Milan Fashion week

Not only did Pakistani models walk the ramp at this year’s Milan Fashion week, but culture of Chitral stole the show. In an effort to raise awareness about the Kalash and to provide their community with income, designer Stella Jean collaborated with Chitral Women’s Handicrafts Center, founded by 22-year-old Karishma Ali. For weeks, 46 women in the center embroidered more than 4,000 meters of material for her.

However, Department of Plant Protection of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research has said that sudden surge is a part of the creature’s migration from summer-monsoon breeding zone towards coastal areas of Balochistan and does not pose any risk to food supply.

Public toilet finder app to be launched in KP to facilitate tourists

An app is going to be launched on Nov 19 to help people, particularly tourists, find public toilets across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The step is aimed to keep the province clean and protect environment from degradation and the citizens from diseases. All necessary information about toilets, including their distance, male, female, children and disabled persons, would be available on the app for public information.

Couple charged with ‘public indecency’ after highway video goes viral

A couple has been charged for an act of public indecency after a video of them in a compromising position on the motorway in Sargodha went viral. Filmed from another moving car, the couple can be seen in the backseat of a vehicle on the highway. A probe was carried out by Motorway Police soon after the video went viral.

Shahi announces total removal of ‘chalia’ to fight illegal imports

Shahi, one of Pakistan’s best selling mouth freshner brands, has decided to completely remove betel nut (chalia) from its Supari products, owing to illegal imports of the ingredient. The brand however, announced that it will not compromise on taste and quality. The company states that the reason behind this is the costs involved in participating in legal battles.

Video showing woman confronting harasser on bus to Islamabad goes viral

A video of a woman slapping a man who sexually harassed her on a bus from Multan to Islamabad has gone viral. The video that was initially made public by a Facebook user, shows an elderly man apologising while the woman accuses him of “constantly touching her back.” As soon as the video went public, several other platforms also shared it.
