Govt planning to convert 3,000 CNG stations into Electric Vehicle charging stations

In a bid to make Pakistan pollution free in future, the government is planning to convert 3,000 CNG stations across the country into Electric Vehicle charging stations. With launch of its first fully-electric three-wheel vehicle, the government is aiming to manage power consumption because, in the future, large numbers of EVs being charged at home especially during peak hours could overload local power transformers.

Low fat milk can help you look younger: study

Consumption of low fat milk increases telomeres’ length that can help slow down the aging process and make one look younger, according to a research carried out by exercise scientists at Brigham Young University (BYU).  The study examined the relationship between different variants of milk and telomeres and concluded that the shortening of telomeres is seen as a key biological marker of the aging process.

Pakistani expat turns saviour for Indian girl in Dubai

Pakistani cab driver in Dubai turned a saviour for an Indian girl who lost her wallet containing important documents including her UK student visa and credit cards. Modassir Khadim, the young taxi driver, went out of his way to return the wallet to Raechel Rose. Rose tried to track the taxi through police. 

Pakistani man flees with thousands of dollars from Canadian wife’s bank accounts

Annie Mary, a Canadian national, has alleged that her Pakistani husband fled the country with thousands of dollars from her bank account. Mary travelled to Pakistan and filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime cell in Gujranwala. Fahad Abrar from Sialkot, allegedly deceived her by transferring the 33,000 dollars into the Pakistani bank accounts of his father and uncle.

Malala Yousafzai declared ‘most famous teenager of the decade’

Pakistani education activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai became the most famous teenager in the world of the 21st century, reported a UN review. UN News highlighted the events that happened between 2010 and the end of 2013 including Malala’s work in favor of girls’ education for 2012. UN News pointed out Malala’s journey and how she was known for speaking out in favour of the education of girls.

Badshahi Mosque Lahore bans wedding photography

Just amid the peak of wedding season in Lahore, Badshahi Mosque – the most coveted photography backdrop- has banned wedding photography. According to team of a local photographer, gatekeepers of the Masjid have banned wedding photography completely since 19th of December. Despite only a 15 minute window for photo shoot, the Mughal era masjid is the most wanted location for couples.

Biochemist crowned Miss America after onstage experiment

A biochemist, Camille Schrier  from Virginia has been crowned Miss America 2020 after she performed a live science experiment on stage. The 24-year-old won a $50,000 scholarship, defeating 50 other women during the pageant final She hoped to break stereotypes about what it means to be Miss America in 2020. She has two undergraduate degrees in science and is currently completing her doctorate in pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Malala Yousafzai is featured on the last Teen Vogue cover of 2019, which highlights “brilliant, world-changing demands of teens across the world” in a decade defined by “the rise of youth activism” and protest. During an interview with the magazine, Malala stressed how education is the best investment anyone can make as it allows one to explore opportunities

United States-based luxury and lifestyle publication Conde Nast Traveler named Pakistan as the top holiday destination for travelers for the year 2020. The listing follows several positive reviews of the tourist attractions in the country by various travel bloggers, vloggers, magazines and adventure clubs. Pakistan has great tourism potential with a government willing to invest in the sector to boost economic growth and the world is finally realising it.
