Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan will compete in the Javelin Throw finals with Neeraj Chopra of India during the Tokyo Olympics. For the first time ever, a Pakistani reached the final of a track and field competition during the Olympics. Earlier on Wednesday, he advanced to the finals of the javelin throw competition.

Abtaha Maqsood, 22, is the first hijab-wearing Muslim woman in Britain to play international cricket. She wants to encourage other young Muslim girls in Britain who are unable to play because of cultural or religious barriers to doing so. Moreover, Abtaha, whose parents hail from Lahore, Pakistan, was born in Glasgow on June 11, 1999.

Asim Saleem Bajwa steps down as CPEC authority chief

General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa stepped down from his position as chief of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPEC). He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for his support. Bajwa was appointed chairman of the CPEC Authority in November 2019. Consequently, the Prime Minister announced Khalid Mansoor as the SAPM for CPEC affairs.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem qualifies for javelin throw final in Tokyo Olympics

The Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final of the javelin throw competition in Tokyo on Wednesday. It is the first time any Pakistani athlete has qualified for the final of any track and field event. Moreover, Arshad competed in group B, where he had to throw at least 83.5m to qualify for the final. 

Islamabad Police registers case over ‘obscene’ photos in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait

The police have registered a case in Islamabad regarding an ‘obscene’ photo shoot in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait. A complaint of obscene acts in public has been filed by Police under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Moreover, the complainant said that photos of a boy and girl at the Coral Chowk showed utter disrespect for Quaid-e-Azam.

Pakistan Football Federation partners with Global Soccer Ventures to launch Pakistan Football League (PFL)

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and Global Soccer Ventures (GSV) have partnered to launch the Pakistan Football League (PFL). It will also upgrade the infrastructure of the sport in the country, according to a statement released on Tuesday. The project involves the development of a state-of-the-art stadium in Karachi.
