Atif Aslam to make television debut in Sang e Mah

Latest social media reports claim renowned singer Atif Aslam will soon make his television debut. The host of the web show announced the news on social media, causing a stir among fans of the singer. Atif will appear in Sang e Mah, the sequel to the popular Hum TV drama serial ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar. However, no official statement has been issued by the singer or production team.

Arshad Nadeem, the first representative from Pakistan to qualify for the final stage of the javelin, however, failed to claim the Olympic medal and finished in fifth place at the event. In his first throw, he covered 82.4 meters, while the distance he covered in his second was a failure, and India’s Neeraj Chopra won gold.

London police arrest teenagers after Islamophobic assault on Muslim family

Police in England arrested two teenagers over reports of an Islamophobic attack last weekend on a Muslim family. Police said they took such matters extremely seriously, “We understand this incident has caused concern within the community.” The arrests came after a video went viral on social media. Moreover, social media videos showed two teenagers verbally and physically attacking and threatening a Muslim family in a park.

PM Imran Khan orders arrest of all those responsible for attack on a Hindu temple

Mobs attacked Hindu temple in a remote town in Pakistan’s Punjab province, damaging idols and burning down parts of them. The incident prompted PM Imran Khan to order the arrest of all those involved in the vandalism and restore the temple. The Hindu temple was attacked by a mob in Bhong city, within the Rahim Yar Khan district, some 590 kilometers from Lahore. 

85-year-old Mushtaq Ahmed spends 26 years making new design of Holy Quran

Mushtaq Ahmed, 85, is a resident of Karachi who has spent over 26 years giving a new look to the Holy Quran. A first-of-its-kind manuscript of the holy book contains verses based on geometric principles. This script does not incorporate the scripts of the languages spoken today. Furthermore, he had only Rs. 14 when he began working on the manuscript. 

Messi to leave Barcelona due to ‘financial and structure obstacles’

Barcelona announced that Messi will leave despite a contract agreement between the two parties. Laliga cited economic and structural obstacles to the renewal of the contract. The Barcelona youth team recruited Messi at the age of 13 years old. He has scored 672 goals in 778 games across all competitions, making his way to the top of the club’s all-time scoring chart.

Waqar Zaka pledges $5000 reward to Arshad Nadeem if he wins any Olympic Medal

Waqar Zaka offered $5000 as a reward for Arshad Nadeem’s qualification for the Javelin Throw final at the Tokyo Olympics. According to Waqar Zaka, Arshad will receive an individual payment for his performance in the Javelin Throw final on Aug 7 in Tokyo 2020. Nadeem made track and field history by becoming the first Pakistani athlete to qualify for an Olympic final with his throw.

PTI govt plans sports projects under Kamyab Jawan Program

Asad Umar revealed on Thursday that the government is implementing two projects to promote sports in the country. Umar’s tweet said that he had reviewed two new “PSDP projects for sports under Kamyab Jawan”. The projects include the development of sports academies and high-performance centers across the country. Furthermore, both initiatives will be carried out through HEC and in all Federating Units.

New Zealand cricket team to tour Pakistan after 18 years

New Zealand is set to tour Pakistan for a limited-overs series in September and October, visiting for the first time since 2003. The tour is set to start on 17 September with the first ODI in Rawalpindi. The remaining ODIs will be played on 19 and 21 September. In addition, they will play a five-match T20I series starting on 25 September in Lahore.
