UK adventure company Explore has begun offering tours to Pakistan after 20 years, which is welcome news for Pakistan’s tourism industry. The company recently released its 2022 brochure, which includes Pakistan-related adventures. The operator returns to Pakistan for the first time since 2001 with a two-week overland tour along the Karakoram Highway.

Middle Eastern countries boycott Indian products over Assam’s police brutality against Muslims

Arab countries are launching social media campaigns calling for the ‘boycott of Indian products’ in protest of the police’s violence against Muslims in Assam. Assam police conducted an eviction drive against Muslims in September. Several countries condemned the use of deadly force by Indian police after a video went viral showing the shooting of an unarmed Muslim man.

Pakistani Professor M. Iqbal Choudhary receives top Muslim World Science Award

Professor M. Iqbal Choudhary, a Pakistani biochemist, has been named Laureate of the Mustafa Prize for 2021. A biennial science award, the Mustafa Prize, honors the best researchers and scientists from the Islamic world. Awards are presented in four categories: ICT, life and medical sciences, nanoscience and nanotechnology, and all other science and technology.

Former Army Chief Raheel Sharif appointed as Newcastle United Football Club manager

Newcastle United has appointed Gen Raheel Sharif, the current commander-in-chief of the Islamic Military Counter Terror Coalition (IMCTC) and former chief of the Pakistan army staff, as their new manager. The announcement came moments after the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund took over the football club. Following an announcement of the takeover by Saudi Arabia, several names were considered to replace Bruce.

Eight-year-old Pakistani gymnast breaks Guinness world record for most Kip-ups in 30 seconds

The 8-year-old gymnast Jasim Mehsud from northwest Pakistan has set a new Guinness World Record of the most kip-ups in 30 secs. The youngster completed 27 kip-ups within the allotted time. A child athlete smashed the record previously held by a Swedish athlete. He is the student of Pakistan’s 43-time Guinness World Record holder Irfan Mehsud.

Pakistan wins top three positions at 53rd World Military Championships in men’s category

Pakistan won top three places at the 53rd World Military Championship held on Monday at the Lahore Garrison Shooting Gallery. Leading Marine Asif Mehmood of Pakistan won the Gold Medal, followed by Petty Officer Waheed Alam of Pakistan who won the Silver Medal in the Skeet Shooting (Men) category. The Bronze Medal has been clinched by Marine Zeeshan of Pakistan.

Muhammad Sajjad sets record by winning fourth national snooker championship

Muhammad Sajjad won the NBP 46th National Snooker Championship 2021 for the fourth time, defeating Ahsan Ramzan in the final. The event took place at the NBP Sports Complex in Clifton on Monday. Sajjad ultimately won the title 7-6 after playing 13 frames in the final. Sajjad had captured the national title three times before, in 2008, 2010, and 2017.

Omer Saleem becomes first Pakistani to receive Pakistan Color for Horseback Archery

A selection committee decided on Omer Saleem 45th Entry to be an official representative of the World Horseback Archery Federation (WHAF) in Pakistan. He will represent Pakistan in the 16th World Horseback Archery Championship scheduled to take place in Tehran, Iran from 18-21 September 2021. It will be the first time a Pakistani has competed in this event.

Karachi based Cricketer Moazzam Ali Baig becomes Malawi’s captain in T20 World Cup

Cricketer Moazzam Ali Baig from Karachi was named captain of Malawi in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup qualifying round. Moazzam Ali Baig will lead Malawi’s 14-member squad for the Group A match of the Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers. The ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup qualifying matches will be played in Kigali, Rwanda from October 14.

New audio tape exposes extortion plan of Ayesha Akram and Rambo regarding Minar-e-Pakistan incident

The Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case has seen another major development with an alleged audio clip emerging during the probe that exposes Ayesha Akram’s extortion plan and that of her partner Rambo. Throughout the recording, the duo can be heard preparing to extort a number of suspects. Ayesha Akram told her partner that she identified six of the men during the parade.
