Super Blood Moon to be first lunar eclipse of 2021 tomorrow

On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, the first lunar eclipse of the year will take place in the early morning hours. This is also called a “Super Blood Moon” due to the reddish-orange color of the moon. A Supermoon, a lunar eclipse, and a blood moon, all rolled into one, is a surefire spectacle for sky gazers.

Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity rate falls to the lowest level

Pakistan reported a 4.82% coronavirus positivity rate today. It was the lowest positive percentage in 10 weeks after 2,253 new infections were reported within the past 24 hours. The coronavirus positivity rate had averaged 8.5% for the past 30 days. NCOC figures indicate that the country’s caseload has reached 905,852 as of today. So far, about 813,855 people have recovered from the virus in Pakistan, with 62,295 cases active.

KPK tourist spot reopened to the public under strict SOPs

Tourist spots in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have been reopened to public under strict SOPs. Kamran Bangash, spokesperson of the KP government, made the announcement while advising tourists to maintain decorum at the destinations. He also advised travellers to follow all rules designed by NCOC to stop spread of COVID-19 and ensure social distancing while wearing masks.

Bahrain to suspend entries from Pakistan, India & SriLanka

Recently, Bahrain put Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka on the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority’s Red List. Travelers from these countries have prohibited from entering since Monday, May 24. The suspension does not apply to Bahrain residents or residents with residency visas. However, they must provide a PCR test report to the airport and have to get quarantined for 10 days.

China provides 2 million doses of Coronavirus vaccine to Pakistan

According to the National Command and Operation Centre, China provides two million doses of Coronavirus vaccine to Pakistan. China sent the Sinovac vaccine to Pakistan by the PIA plane. Until now, Pakistan has acquired 11.1 million doses of the Coronavirus vaccine. Moreover, Pakistan received 1.2 million doses of the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccination on May 9.

Kashmir Martyrs’ Day protests took place across the UK

The Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) called for a Kashmir martyrs’ day protest on Sunday that was attended by many Pakistanis and Kashmiris. There were few events, including digital campaigns from London to Glasgow. Moreover, the protest was against Indian forces’ brutal violence against Kashmiris. On May 21, 1990, Indian forces killed 70 unarmed Kashmiris. Therefore, this is clear evidence that Indian forces have committed brutality and massacres.
