Edkasa, a Lahore-based education technology startup has managed to raise pre-seed funding of $320,000 to help launch a new mobile application for exam preparation. The new app will leverage and make use of Edkasa’s existing userbase of 55,000 students and more than 40 schools throughout Pakistan which currently avail its services, according to a statement from the startup.
PTI lawmaker and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Barrister Maleeka Bokhari has been selected as the World Economic Forum (WEF) ‘Young Global Leader’ for five years. Bokhari is the only representative from Pakistan, chosen as a Young Global Leader this year. She currently serves as Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Law and Justice in Pakistan and is responsible for legislative business in parliament.

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said that the government plans to open registration for Covid-19 vaccination for all citizens after Eid. Khansa currently attends Georgetown’s Qatar campus where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s in foreign service, with a concentration in culture and politics. Owing to her visual impairment, Khansa had to face many struggles while studying in Pakistan.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the suspension of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) after a hostile takeover of its headquarters. The suspension will only be lifted once the body will receive confirmation that the hostile takeover has ended, the football governing body had stated in a press release on its website.
Authorities in Dubai have decided to deport a group of individuals involved in a naked photo shoot on a high-rise balcony in the emirate. Images of the shoot were widely circulated on social media. The decision was taken as authorities believe the incident was out of line with the values of the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan is mulling over administering a third dose of the two-dose Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine to some of its elderly citizens, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, has disclosed. The moves come after UAE started administering a third of Sinopharm’s vaccine last month after initial and booster doses did not develop the required level of immunity among some elderly individuals.

The premier shared the breathtaking pictures on Twitter, saying that this is Deosai plains’ first ever winter ski traverse. At an average elevation of 4,114 metres (13,497 ft) above sea level in Gilgit-Baltistan, Deosai plateaus are considered the second-highest plateaus in the world.
