Pakistani commando wins gold medal in international shooting event

Pakistani commando Arsalan Anwar hailing from Sindh, Pakistan has won gold medal  in the Asian International Defensive Pistol Association Cup (IDPA) competition held in Bangkok. More than 100 shooters from 10 Asian countries participated in the event but Arsalan beat them all by hitting 118 targets in 6.16 minutes in the final round of practical shooting. Government decides to import tomatoes from Iran for one month

The government has allowed import of tomatoes from Iran for a period of one month to arrest the skyrocketing prices of the vegetable in domestic market. The government believes that new crop of tomatoes and onion will reach the market in next two to three weeks from Sindh. In the meanwhile, imports from Iran will help fill the gap to some extent.

Lahore to be a tobacco-smoke free city

In a bid to control passive smoking, district authorities have drafted a comprehensive plan to turn Lahore into a tobacco-smoke free city. The plan seeks to ban smoking in all public spaces, including parks, marriage halls and public transport. The sale of cigarettes within 50 metre radius of any educational institute will also be prohibited and an awareness campaign will be launched.

265 ‘fake’ news outlets managed by Indian network to target Pakistan uncovered

A European non-governmental group has uncovered a network of 265 ‘fake’ news outlets managed by an Indian network to influence the European Union and the United Nations with content critical of Pakistan. During the investigation, the DisinfoLab found that the fake websites copy-pasted anti-Pakistan content from unusual press agencies and amplified material shared by politicians and obscure think tanks that supported Indian geopolitical interests.

The consumption of electronic cigarettes is rising around the world with more and more people switching to vaping from regular cigarettes leading to rise in health hazards.
