According to Pirzada, a few women who she helped without having a source of income wanted to thank her by sewing her clothes. That is when she came up with the idea to launch her own clothing brand. as they knew how to sew.

Dozens of shops sealed in Lahore for not following SOPs

Multiple shops and markets were sealed in Lahore on Thursday for not following the government SOPs. The government had issued these SOPs to shopkeepers to follow to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. They include practices such as making hand sanitiser available within stores and ensuring social distancing is maintained. Forty-five shops in Shah Alam Market were sealed and seven in Chongi Amar Sidhu.

Vaccines, treatments still a bridge too far, says US expert

The top US expert on infectious diseases told a Senate panel on Tuesday that it’s still too early to expect a coronavirus vaccine or treatment. Dr Aanthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that the idea of treatment or vaccine to facilitate the reentry of students into the fall term would be a bridge too far. 

Pakistan among countries with most content removal requests: Facebook

Pakistan along with Russia and Mexico accounted for almost half of global Facebook content removal requests. A total of 15,826 content restrictions were made by Facebook globally during July-December 2019. Facebook restricted 2,300 items within Pakistan (the second highest after Russia with 2,900 pieces removed) during the second half of 2019. In the first half, Pakistan had reported the highest volume of content (31 per cent) to Facebook.

Turkey accuses five nations of forming ‘alliance of evil’

Turkey accused five nations of forming ‘alliance of evil’ after a joint declaration denouncing Ankara’s policies in the eastern Mediterranean and Libya. These countries include Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, France and the United Arab Emirates. Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said the five countries were pursuing regional chaos and instability in the eastern Mediterranean.  Also, sacrificing Libyans hope for democracy for the reckless aggression of dictators.

China’s Jilin in partial lockdown over ‘major risk’ of coronavirus spread

China’s city, Jilin has partially shut its borders and cut off transport links after the emergence of a local coronavirus cluster. The cases have fuelled growing fears of a second wave of infections in China. Jilin, with a population of more than four million, suspended bus services. All cinemas and other enclosed entertainment venues to shut immediately, and pharmacies must report all sales of fever medicines, the local government said in a statement.

Meera is finally back in Pakistan

After being stuck in New York, Meera has made her way home to Pakistan. The actor shared the news of her return on her Instagram with a video from the airport. The actor will now be completing 15 days in quarantine before heading to her own home to continue self-isolation. Meera expressed joy on her return and gave a special shout-out the Pakistani embassy and Pakistani consulate, both in Washington DC and NYC. 

Friends reunion delayed in hopes of a live audience

Friends reunion special has been delayed as HBO Max executives are holding out hopes of filming it before a live audience rather than shooting it. Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment, said that he thought it was worth waiting until the one-off unscripted show could be filmed in a traditional way.

Ertugrul cast gets trolled on social media

Actor Ahsan Khan wants people in Pakistan to know it is not ok to troll actors and taking to twitter he said that this sort of behaviour was shameful. The actor was referring to the recent trend on social media where people were calling out and trolling stars of the Turkish series Ertugul Ghazi.
