Pakistani travelers take 26 virus cases to Hong Kong, Emirates suspends flights

After 26 Pakistani passengers in an Emirates flight were found Coronavirus positive in Hong Kong, the UAE-based airline announced in a statement  that it has suspended passenger services from Pakistan. The flight will be temporarily suspended from June 24. Emirates will keep on continuing its cargo and repatriation flights to Pakistan as per the announced schedule.

Pilots of PK-8303 were ‘over confident’: Aviation Minister

Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan presented the preliminary report on the PIA plane crash before the National Assembly on Wednesday, where he accused the pilots of being ‘over confident’.

Based on the initial report, Khan held the pilot, the cabin crew, and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) responsible for the plane crash, which resulted in the deaths of 97 out of 99 persons on board the flight.

“The pilot and the ATC did not follow the procedure. The plane was 100 per cent okay,” said the minister, eliminating the possibility of technical faults with the aircraft.
Khan added that the pilots were not “focused” because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“In the last half hour, the pilots’ discussion was about coronavirus, they were not focused as their families were affected,” said the minister, adding that the pilot and co-pilot were both fit and experienced.

Writing ‘Khatam ul Nabiyeen’ with Prophet’s name made binding

The National Assembly has passed a resolution making it mandatory to write Khatam ul Nabiyeen (the Last Prophet) along with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s name. Police in Karachi arrests nine-year-old car ‘thief’

The Karachi police has arrested a nine-year-old suspected car thief after several days of efforts. A nine-year-old child stole a car from Karachi’s Khayaban-e-Mujahid out of desperation to drive a car. Upon being informed, the Darakhshan police chased him and arrested from Sea View area. The car thief has been identified as Bilal and hailed from Machar colony, said police.

PIA aircraft crashed due to human error, blackbox reveals no technical glitch

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane crash on May 22nd in Karachi took place due to human errors, said the preliminary investigation report submitted to the Aviation Division in a high level meeting on Monday. The negligence of both the cockpit crew as well as the air control tower caused the accident and there was apparently no technical fault.

Virus forces Saudi to cut down Hajj to ‘very limited’ numbers

The well-known Shia scholar had been under treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital for the past 15 days. Teenager accidentally kills himself while recording TikTok video

A teenager boy accidentally shot and killed himself while filming a video for popular video-sharing platform TikTok in Sikandarabad, Karachi. The 17 years old deceased was reportedly filming himself while holding his father’s pistol to his temple when he accidentally pulled the trigger, killing himself. The police stated that the pistol was licensed and belonged to the boy’s father, a labourer.
