Syed Muhammad Khan, a retired Islamiat teacher, said he taught at a local school for 60 years after his Matriculation in 1962, but wanted to study further now. Khan approached the vice-chancellor of Malakand University for admission and was hopeful to pursue his studies.

Speaking about his plans after the Bachelors, he said he wanted to work in the government, but if it couldn’t happen for some reason, he would love to teach at any private school.

According to Khan, he is an avid reader and made sure his daughter also complete their higher studies. Khan is a widower, who lives with one of his four daughters. He said after the death of his wife, he doesn’t have anyone to look after him or the house, but still, this has not dampened his desire for education.
