Young Pakistani girls bag gold medals in International Ju-Jitsu E-tournament

Two young female athletes from Pakistan, Isra Waseem and Kainat Arif, lead the country to victory by bagging gold medals in the International Ju-Jitsu E-tournament. About 371 teams from 31 countries took part in the competition where the Pakistani youngsters, Waseem and Arif made their country proud in the duo beginners’ category for women. Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF) referee Tariq Ali also appreciated their performance.

Pakistan was represented for the first time in the said category. The Gold medal-winning duo maintained a consistently brilliant show throughout the tournament. They had been training in Karachi amid the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.

Pakistan’s performance at international ju-jitsu events has always been credible, but the sport suffers from lack of resources and financial backing from the government. Pakistan Sports Board has not released a single penny to PJJF since 2017.
