Punjab government removes Umar Sheikh from post of Lahore CCPO

The Punjab government has removed Umar Sheikh from the post of Lahore Capital City Police Officer. Sheikh has been replaced with Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, who has served as a police officer for 14 years, including as the Lahore DIG operations and Lahore chief traffic office. Dogar, who hails from Sialkot, is counted among some of the most professional, able and responsible police officers in Pakistan.

Sub-inspector resigns due to Lahore CCPO’s abusive behaviour

A police sub-inspector has resigned from his position alleging that the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh abused him in a meeting.  Fahad Iftikhar Virk stated in his two-line resignation letter, that he is unable to serve in the police department any more. Virk said that Sheikh called him the “son of a donkey” in a meeting.
