Attorney-General Anwar Mansoor Khan resigned in a surprise move on Thursday after the Pakistan Bar Council demanded he do so. He was the chairman of the PBC by virtue of his post as attorney-general. I didn’t t want to leave them behind, he said. He added that he decided to resign last night. His resignation letter has been sent to the president.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui forwarded on Thursday his resignation as the minister for information technology to Prime Minister Imran Khan. Siddiqui had announced his resignation on January 12, saying that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had failed to deliver on its promises. He requested for the acceptance of his resignation accordingly.
Sheikh Rashid clearly said that that the people who want resignation from him after the Tezgam inferno must wait till Sunday as Prime Minister Imran Khan has already ordered an inquiry in the incident. He claimed that least number of railway incidents occurred in his tenure and blamed the passengers for the incident as they didn’t obey laws and kept on using canister and stoves even after being stopped by the guards on duty.
