A PIA flight skidded off the runway as pilot failed to control the plane while landing. Flight PK 605, carrying 48 passengers, was flying from Islamabad to Gilgit Saturday morning. No injuries were reported and all passengers and crew aboard the flight are safe. The PIA CEO ordered an investigation into the accident and lauded the professionalism of the pilot.
A 12-member Homeland Security team reached Islamabad Monday to finalise the matter of resuming direct flights from the United States to Pakistan and vice versa. American authorities green- lightened Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for the direct flight operations to the United States in May this year, which had shut its direct flight operations to US owing to financial losses.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK853 for sector Tokyo-Beijing – Islamabad had to offload 50 passengers after emergency slide got activated during the loading of inflight meals at the Beijing airport. Apart from offloading passengers with their luggage, a delay of nearly three hours was caused. The passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and were adjusted in next available flights.
