Pakistan’s first woman firefighter makes her mark in an unconventional field

Meet, Shazia Parveen, from Vehari, Pakistan’s first female firefighter. Shazia joined the Rescue 1122 emergency service (Fire Wing) in 2010 and in 2016 was promoted to Lead Fire Instructor and transferred to Lahore’s Rescue department at Thokar Niaz Baig. In Lahore, she is now training the new team members on the standard operating procedures for firefighting.

Muslim women travel with trucks to help firefighters during Australian bushfire

Muslim women, from the Australian Islamic Centre in a suburb of Melbourne, traveled more than four hours to bring food for the tired firefighters. Rashid Elhouli, who oversees online public relations, told that the ladies also cooked food for the rescuers in Jacksonville and collected 5 trucks of supplies along with a cookout, who thanked them for their wonderful gesture.
