Chinese man with coronavirus symptoms put into isolation ward

A Chinese national, suspected of having  coronavirus, was shifted to an isolation ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) from the Islamabad airport. Bing Yang was diagnosed with high temperature during the screening of 122 passengers who landed at Islamabad airport from Beijing. High temperature being one of the major symptoms of coronavirus, the authorities immediately separated Yang from other passengers and shifted him to the Pims hospital. 

Hamza Ali Abbasi says don’t mock religion, show sympathy

Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi took to social media on Tuesday to clarify somethings about religion and the coronavirus. In a tweet, he said: “Azaab in this world ONLY comes to munkireen of a Rasool when he is among them, for the rest, there is the Judgment Day. Whether it be a virus outbreak or an earthquake, these are means to bring death on centre stage as a reminder for all. Show sympathy. May Allah protect us all.”

PAF sends medical supplies to China as a gesture of friendship

After the Chinese foreign ministry had urged the world for help for curing coronavirus, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has sent a military aircraft loaded with medical supplies as a part of rescue services to China. The second batch of the supplies will land in Wuhan this week as the country continues its fight against the mysterious virus that has already infected over 14,000 people worldwide.

Chinese national released from Lahore hospital after Coronavirus scare

A Chinese national was shifted to a Lahore hospital after he fell ill at the Lahore airport as a precaution against Coronavirus. The Chinese passenger had come to Lahore in a PIA flight from Karachi. He was taken to Lahore’s Services Hospital where he was kept in isolation. According to the medical superintendent of the hospital, the patient had no symptoms of Coronavirus and was later discharged after collection of his blood samples.

Govt says its decision to not evacuate Pakistani nationals from China ‘not final’

evacuated from novel coronavirus-hit China for the fear of the epidemic spreading across Pakistan, the Senate was informed that the decision was not final. “If the situation changes, we will evacuate the Pakistani students on its basis,” said leader of the House in the Senate Shibli Faraz.

Coronavirus mortality rate is only 3 percent: Pakistani health expert

A Pakistani health expert, Dr Naseem Salahuddin said people did not need to fear coronavirus as its mortality rate was only three percent, which is less than the common flu. She added, that it was necessary for people to remain cautious as viruses change every few years. She explained that Influenza, a common flu can cause death while coronavirus spreads rapidly. 

Four Pakistani students in China tested positive for the coronavirus

Four Pakistani students in China tested positive for the coronavirus, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza revealed on Wednesday. On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s behalf, Mirza assured the children’s families of the government’s support. He said that they will take on the responsibility of these children and all Pakistanis in China.

A new mysterious coronavirus, which has originated from Wuhan in China, has killed almost 106 people so far in and infected over 4559. With the epidemic quickly spreading throughout the world, the government of China is considering vacating the city of Wuhan, which is bigger than New York or London with a population of 11 million. The deadly virus is passed on to humans from animals. 

Large number of Pakistani students stranded in Wuhan seeks government’s help

At least 500 Pakistani students are reportedly stuck in the coronavirus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan. In a recorded video, the students have requested the  government to rescue them just like embassies of other countries are helping their citizens. “If even one of us gets affected, the others will be in danger,” said Hafsah Tayab, one of the students stuck in Wuhan.
