Netflix’s ‘Money Heist’ features Pakistani hackers as ‘geniuses’

Money Heist, one of the most awaited series on Netflix has returned with its third season. However, what made it more exciting for people of Pakistan, was the apparent connection of Islamabad with the heist. It is revealed that a team of 65 members based in Islamabad is helping Professor (Álvaro Morte) track the data he and his team needs to fight the war.

“The work Rio used to do was now done by 65 Pakistanis. They are geniuses, thanks to them, we had access to everything,” one of the character in the series narrates. Twitter is largely celebrating this mention, regardless of the fact that the reference to Pakistan might be having a negative connotation.
