Syed Ommer Amer becomes first Pakistani to win ‘MIL’ Award from UNESCO

UNESCO awarded Syed Ommer Amer the MIL award for his work in Daastan, making him the first Pakistani to receive the award. Daastan promotes media literacy throughout the country. Through the use of storytelling, the organization publishes books and organizes campaigns to promote intercultural discussion and peacemaking. Furthermore, MIL awards recognition leadership in five domains: educational research, policy, advocacy, media, and information technologies.

National University of Medical Sciences to introduce first-ever healing bandage in Pakistan

National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) researchers will assist the pharmaceutical industry in producing the first-ever healing bandage in Pakistan. Dr. Hussain Wahedi, a young scientist at the university, said the procedure will speed up the recovery of different kinds of wounds of injured people in the country. Moreover, to accelerate the wound-healing process, healing bandages can be used for five to twelve hours.

FIA arrests two NADRA officials for issuing CNIC cards to militants

FIA officers arrested two Assistant Directors of NADRA Sindh and an agent for allegedly making ID cards for militants. Amir Farooqi, Director FIA Sindh, said the arrested ADs identified an extensive list of NADRA Sindh senior officials involved with the conspiracy. He added FIA Sindh will soon bust the entire network of corrupt officials.

Chinese phone manufacturer Realme sets up assembly plant in Lahore

China’s Realme, a leading global brand of smartphones, recently opened a local assembly plant in Lahore. Realme’s Director of Marketing, Sherry Dong, explained that the decision was made based on the increasing demand for Realme phones in Pakistan. Consequently, Realme phones and products would be more affordable for Pakistani consumers. The project is expected to create jobs and have a significant socioeconomic impact.

Pakistan Army Major Arsalan Zafar achieves 1st place at Joint Command and Staff College in Kuwait

Major Arsalan Zafar of Pakistan placed first out of all foreign officers at the Joint Command and Staff College in Kuwait. The graduation ceremony was honored by PM Sabah Al-Khalid al-Sabah and Defence Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali-Al-Sabah. Social media congratulated the young officer for his impressive performance. First Amazon center in South Punjab will open after Eid

The first Amazon Center in South Punjab will open after Eid-ul-Azha in Multan. The main aim of setting up the Amazon center is to launch and market products made in Pakistan worldwide. Dubai, a global financial center and the world’s most coveted entertainment destination, has opened the world’s deepest swimming pool. The pool is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for its depth. The pool has a depth of 60.02 meters and can hold 14 million liters of water. Samsung plans to build local smartphone assembly plant in Pakistan.

Samsung is in talks with three potential investors about establishing a smartphone assembly plant in Pakistan. So far, no agreement has been signed between Samsung and investors. Samsung is currently in the process of finalizing its plan to award the license to one of the companies. A Korean company plans to begin the local assembly of cell phones during the final quarter of this year.
