Punjab Govt to replace post of Patwari with village officer

Post of  “Patwari” i.e. the revenue officer will be changed to “Village Officer” according to the orders of Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar. Punjab Public Service Commission will be tasked with the recruitment of new village officers all over Punjab.  Moreover, 115 new land record centres will be set up in distant areas of the province within a month along with Model Tehsil for revenue collection to facilitate the citizens

A young man from Karachi, Atta Rafiq, has manufactured the first of its kind exocar all by himself after 6 months of vigorous hard work. The project was sponsored by a US company. The extremely fuel efficient car has been made from used parts of different vehicles without any support from any Pakistani company or government. 

Pakistan Navy to get advanced guided missile frigates from China

In a major arms deal with China, Pakistan will get 4 advanced guided-missile frigate Type 054AP. The steel cutting ceremony for two of these multi-role Frigates took place at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in China on 1st November. With ships expected to enter service by 2021, Pakistan Navy’s arsenal will increase, strengthening the force’s capability to maintain peace and stability in the Arabian Sea.

Maryam Nawaz granted bail but barred from leaving the country

The Lahore High Court granted bail to PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case. The court instructed Maryam to submit two surety bonds of Rs10 million each. She has also been instructed to surrender her passport and deposit an additional amount of Rs70 million. Maryam had approached the high court on September 30 seeking post-arrest bail.

PM Imran to launch Pakistan’s largest needs-based scholarship programme

Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to launch the “largest ever needs-based” scholarship programme. ‘Ehsaas for Students’ is another project of the government’s social welfare programme Ehsaas and aims to provide scholarships to about 200,000 students from lower income families over the next four years. The government will award 50,000 scholarships every year, half of which will be granted to women.

Pakistan among top 20 global economic reformers: World Bank Report

In a recent report, the World Bank has ranked Pakistan at number six amongst the top 20 global reformers. The World Bank also acknowledged Pakistan amongst top 10 economies that improve the most on the ease of doing business after implementing regulatory reform. As per the report, for the first time Pakistan has improved 28 ranks, from 136 to 108, in one year.

Rabi Pirzada has decided to quit Showbiz after compromised videos and pictures of the singer were leaked on social media. The singer announced the news on Twitter and further wrote, “May Allah forgive my sins and soften others’ hearts towards me.” #RabiPirzada was the top trend in the country on Friday, after ‘compromising’ videos of Rabi went viral on social media.

Government to file mutiny case over Fazl’s provocative speech

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf government decided to file a mutiny case against Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for delivering a provocative speech and “instigating people” against the prime minister and state institutions. PTI government on Saturday warned the Azadi march participants against advancing towards the sensitive D-Chowk. According to Defence Minister Pervez Khattak the PTI government is not worried at all. 

Apple is laying the groundwork for an iPhone subscription

Some investors want Apple to sell its iPhone on a subscription basis to shift more of Apple’s revenue from transactional sales to recurring revenue. Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t shoot down the idea during a conference call on Wednesday and suggests that Apple is working on new ways to pay for iPhones on a monthly basis. He also mentioned that a lot of users want a sort of recurring payment like that and he is well aware of that. 

Rabi Pirzada lodges complaint with FIA over video leak

Pakistani singer Rabi Pirzada filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday to take action against the persons who leaked her private videos and pictures on social media. The FIA received the complaint and promised to urge Facebook to disclose the details of the person who leaked the private videos on the social media platform. Several social media users including  her lawyer Nighat Dad and Meesha Shafi supported her through tweets
