At least 19 Sikh pilgrims dead after van and train crash at Sheikhupura

A crash between a van and the Shah Hussain Express train near Sheikhupura has left least 19 Sikh pilgrims and several other injured. The coaster carrying the Sikh pilgrims collided with the Lahore-bound train at a railway crossing near Sacha Soda. The Sikh pilgrims were from Peshawar and were visiting Nankana Sahib to condole the death of a relative.

25-26 people were travelling in the coach, out of which 20 had been killed in the accident. The victims include women and children as well. The accident occurred around 1.30pm at a crossing near Sheikhupura that was reportedly unmanned.
