US lab unveils five-minute coronavirus detection test

A US-based medical company has unveiled a coronavirus test that can tell if someone is infected in as little as five minutes. The test launched by Abbott Laboratories is a portable test that can be used in almost any health-care setting. The company plans to supply 50,000 tests a day starting April 1, John Frels, vice president of research and development at Abbott Diagnostics said.

There is a little town called Lahore in the Orange County, Virginia, U.S. In 2007, Noor Naghmi, the son of Abul Hasan Naghmi, a Pakistani broadcaster, brought the town to the news, before that no one knew about it. The town has existed since the 1850s and as the story goes, it was named by a couple who visited the Lahore in Punjab when there was no Pakistan.

Senior US diplomat Alice Wells has rubbished news claiming Washington was well aware of New Delhi’s move to strip Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) of its special status. In a Tweet, Wells clarified that ‘India did not consult or inform’ US government. Sources inside Indian government had told ThePrint that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had apprised Mike Pompeo of India’s plan.

US, Russia, China appreciate Pakistan’s role in ending Afghan war

A joint statement issued in Washington has revealed that United States, China and Russia have warmly welcomed Pakistan to a four-party consultation process aiming to bring peace to the war-torn region of Afghanistan after 18 years. The statement recognises Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process and justifies Islamabad’s view that any development in Afghanistan also impacts Pakistan.
