Hira Jalal, ACCA, founder of Finperial, organized a financial literacy seminar for entrepreneurs in Islamabad on 14th September, 2019. The event was held at WeCreate Centre and was attended by 70+ startup founders. The seminar touched upon numerous accounting standards and included topics related to bookkeeping, financial statements, budgeting, break-even analysis, FBR, SECP or any other financial fundamentals.
SABAQ, an education technology initiative for children in low-cost and low resource environments, is the only Pakistani startup chosen from a pool of 800 submissions from 86 countries. The 11 finalists for the empowering people Award (epAward) 2019 by the Siemens Foundation will be competing with for top 3 spots in Cairo next month for a 50,000 Euros prize.
Azaad Health, a Pakistan based healthcare startup, founded by Syed Abrar has won award for “Outstanding Entrepreneur from an Emerging Economy” at U.S. Department of State’s GIST Catalyst Competition 2019. Abrar was one of the 30 finalists at the competition from 18 different countries, and represented AzaadHealth, a global patient-owned health data exchange network, which aims to empower patients by democratizing health records.
