PM wants to stay at the ambassador’s official residence during US visit

Prime Minister Imran Khan has reportedly expressed desire to stay at the ambassador’s official residence instead of an expensive hotel during his three-day visit to Washington, starting on July 21. While staying at ambassador’s residence can considerably reduce the cost of the visit, neither the United States secret service nor the city administration appears “very receptive” to the idea.

President Putin invites PM Imran for economic moot

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been extended an invite by Russia President Vladimir Putin to attend an economic conference in Vladivostok. The Eastern Economic Forum is scheduled to be held from September 4 to September 6 in Russia’s far eastern city. The EEF serves as a platform for the discussion of key issues in world economy and regional integration.

PM Imran Khan to meet US President Donald Trump on July 22

Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal has revealed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be going to Washington on invitation of President Trump and the two will be meeting on 22nd of July. During the premier’s visit, the focus will be on further improving the ties between the two countries. The two leaders will also talk about “important regional matters”.

PM Imran owns assets worth Rs.108 million in total: ECP

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has publicly released asset details of key politicians of the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan owns assets worth Rs108 million, which include residential properties, agricultural lands and other valuables. While the Bani Gala estate is declared a gift, three foreign currency accounts – one each for US dollars, Euro and Pound Sterling are also revealed.

PM Imran hits back at opposition for calling him ‘selected’

Speaking at the National Assembly on Saturday, the Prime Minister took at jibe at those who call him a ‘selected PM’, saying those who entered politics during military dictatorships were now criticising him. PM Imran Khan also criticised the economic decisions of the previous governments and said opposition has been misleading the nation, especially regarding devaluation of the rupee.

PM Imran expected to meet President Trump soon

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that US President Donald Trump had extended an invitation to Prime Minister Imran Khan. However, the Prime Minister could not travel to Washington due to his occupancy with the budget session. Currently, dates are being worked out between both sides for a meeting expected in September to discuss “important regional matters”.

PM House no longer to be converted into a university

After spending a total of Rs 30 million on feasibility report of grand plan to convert Prime Minister House in Islamabad into a fully operational university for masses, the government is now planning to set up an engineering institute instead. The institute will offer research and academic facilities from Masters to PhD in fields of engineering and emerging technologies.

MNAs barred from using word ‘selected’ for PM Imran Khan

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri has directed MNAs to refrain from using word ‘selected’ for Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Deputy Speaker said that as a member of assembly, the Prime Minister was elected through votes and any insult to any member is intolerable. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has, however, decided to consult lawyers regarding legality of the ban.

PM Imran directs to explore possible increase in retirement age

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Ministry of Finance to increase superannuation age limit of civil servants and early retirement of dead wood within two days. Current superannuation age of civil servants is 60 years, but due to increase in average life expectancy to 69 years, at least three years can be added to retirement age.

While the news of appointment of State Minister Zartaj Gul’s sister as Director NACTA is still circulating in the media, media source were able to unearth the appointment letter of Special Assistant to PM Mr. Naeem ul Haq’s Nephew, Shiraz ul Haq, as Director Regional Headoffice in NADRA. Earlier today, Naeem ul Haq strongly condemned nepotism via his tweet.
