NAB starts investigating Pakistan’s flour, sugar crises

National Accountability Bureau (NAB)  has decided to launch an investigation into Pakistan’s flour and sugar crises. The approval for the investigation was granted during a meeting of the bureau’s executive board on Tuesday. All aspects of the flour and sugar crises will be investigated, the bureau said in a statement. 

President Arif Alvi is unaware of the recent flour shortage

President Arif Alvi is unaware of the recent flour crisis which Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) is going through. He made these remarks during a surprise visit to the National Insti­tu­­­te of Child Health (NICH). After the presidents remarks irked the public on social media, he clearly mentioned in a video that the current scenario was not in his knowledge but he should have been aware of it. 

KP faces a flour crisis as Punjab cuts wheat supply

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is staring at a possible flour crisis as its wheat supply has been cut down by the Punjab government. Due to a sudden disruption of wheat supply the flour prices have increased by Rs. 80 for a 20kg bag in the province. KP receives 95 percent of its wheat supply from Punjab, which has been completely cut for the past couple of days without any reason given by the Punjab government, according to Muhammad Iqbal, chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Association KP.
