Pakistani truck drivers stuck in Afghanistan for more than 1.5 months were brought back into the country through the Pak-Afghan Chaman border on Monday. The drivers were allowed to cross the border under strict SOPs issued by the government. They will be shifted to the quarantine centre at the border and will be tested for the coronavirus there.
The Pakistani authorities sealed the Pak-Afghan Chaman border Monday morning over fears that the coronavirus would be spread to the country. It has been sealed for an initial period of seven days and could be extende as Afghanistan has also reported coronavirus cases. So far, the authorities have just sealed the Chaman border. The border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is still open.
