Shaheen Air’s aircraft mysteriously catches fire

In a shocking incident, defunct Shaheen Air’s Boeing 737-200 (AP-BIS) caught fire at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi on Sunday. The incident took place near the airport’s Labour Gate on Sunday night following which the fire tenders put out the fire. No human life was lost in the fire. Preliminary reports suggest that it was set on fire intentionally, however, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has formed a committee to probe the incident.

Airbus beats boeing to become the world’s biggest aircraft company

As Boeing is mired in controversies after two fatal crashes involving its 737 Max 8, Airbus becomes world’s biggest aircraft company. For the first time since 2011, Airbus has managed to defeat Boeing as it delivered 863 aircraft in 2019.  US aerospace giant set its delivery target at 860 aircraft. However, it deployed extra resources to go beyond its revised target. Of the total 863 aircraft, 640 are single-aisle-aircraft.

Boeing aircraft breaks world record with a 780-day flight

Boeing-made space plane touched down at Kennedy Space Center after 780 days in space, breaking its previous record of 717 days, 20 hours and 42 minutes. The number of expected days from the reusable aircraft were 240 but surprisingly it lasted three times more than expected. According to Randy Walden, Director, USAF Rapid Capabilities Office, the aircraft met all mission objectives. Due to secrecy as the Boeing made this record  alongside the US Air Force, details on how the craft achieved this milestone are scarce.
