Letter written to IG prison to remove AC from Nawaz’s jail cell

On directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Punjab government has asked the inspector general prison to remove air conditioner (AC) from the prison cell of incarcerated prime minister Nawaz Sharif. A letter written on July 17 to the inspector general prison states that ‘No preferential treatment be given to the criminals and money launders in the prison in Punjab’.

Russian boxer dies at age 28 after suffering brain injury in ring

Russian boxer, Maxim Dadashev aged 28, has died after suffering a brain injury in a fight in Maryland. The Russian Boxing Federation says Dadashev died “as a result of the injuries he sustained” in Friday’s light-welterweight fight with Subriel Matías at the Theater at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Dadashev was hospitalized shortly after fight but succumbed to head injuries.

KPK government imposes heavy fines on littering

In order to curb the menace of littering in the picturesque Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KPK government has decided to impose heavy fines on those littering. A tweet by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) official Twitter account said, “KP government fined 23 hotels, 18 restaurants, 16 cabins, 6 resident houses and 11 tourists for littering & sanitation offenses in Galiyat”. Total fine collected amounted to a huge sum of Rs. 1,43,000.

July 25th: Opposition’s Black Day to be PTI’s day of Thanksgiving

A week ago, Opposition parties in complete concord decided to announce July 25, first anniversary of 2018 general elections, as ‘black day’ across Pakistan. In retaliation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has announced to celebrate July 25 as Thanksgiving Day. PTI’s Chief Organizer Saif Ullah Niazi has directed all central and district bodies of PTI to celebrate in a befitting manner.

Maryam and 3000 PMLN workers booked for Faisalabad rally

More than 3,000 activists and leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) have been booked in different police stations in Faisalabad. Charges of delivering speeches against the government, staging rallies without seeking permission, using loudspeaker and hurling threats of disrupting peace on Sunday night have been noted. Police said the accused had created problems by blocking various roads.

56 out of 59 skin whitening creams used in Pakistan highly toxic

A public service initiative by Ministry of Climate Change has revealed that 56 out of 59 skin whitening creams being used in Pakistan have been found highly toxic. These creams, produced both locally and internationally, contain mercury more than permissible limit of 1 ppm with content being as high as 44292ppm. High content of mercury can severely damage nervous system.

Dunya News fires Mohsin Abbas Haider after domestic abuse allegations

In an official message aired on TV and posted on social media, Dunya News has decided to terminate Mohsin Abbas Haider as DJ from the show ‘Mazaakraat’. The official notice stated that domestic abuse allegations on Mohsin have hurt the public sentiment. Keeping in mind the large amount of complaints, Mohsin has been terminated till he proves himself innocent.

Safa Gold Mall in Islamabad gets sealed by CDA

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has partially sealed the Safa Gold Mall on the orders of the Supreme Court. The CDA team reportedly sealed the basement of the mall, food courts and the offices of the management after court ruled last week that the mall was illegally built on a hospital plot. The court has ordered to retrieve the land.

PM Imran’s invitation to Pakistan accepted by Donald Trump

The Foreign Office has revealed that US President Donald Trump has accepted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s invitation to visit Pakistan. During his first first official meeting with Trump, PM Khan extended an invitation to the American President. PM Khan who was warmly welcomed by the US President held fruitful talks on strengthening partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
