MQM founder Altaf Hussain contracts COVID, issues message from ICU

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain, who has been away from the public eye for the past few years, has contracted COVID-19 and is currently in an intensive care unit (ICU) at a hospital in the UK. In an audio message released to the public, Altaf revealed that he started seeing symptoms 20 days ago and is currently being treated for the virus. 

Bilawal offers MQM ministries in exchange for breaking alliance with PTI

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari offered Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) ministries in Sindh in exchange for the party breaking off its alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). Bilawal said if MQM breaks off its alliance with PTI and manages to get Sindh its share in resources, the provincial government will “stand by [MQM] for the sake of Karachi’s people. 

Altaf Hussain asks India for asylum for himself and associates

Founder of MQM-London, Altaf Hussain has asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant political asylum to him and his associates. Altaf made the request during a speech aired on social media from his London abode earlier this month. “[If granted asylum] I will not interfere in any politics, I promise,” assured Mr Hussain to the Indian government in a speech.

Scotland Yard charges Altaf Hussain for ‘encouraging terrorism’ in Karachi in 2016

The founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, has been charged by Scotland Yard in incitement speech inquiry for Intentionally Encouraging or Assisting Offences, Contrary to Section 44 of the Serious Crime Act 2007.
