Actress Meera discharged from US mental hospital after Captain Naveed pays $50,000 bail

Pakistani actress Meera has reportedly been discharged from the mental hospital in United States after Captain Naveed paid $50,000 for her ‘bail’. It is learnt that the actress was advised to continue her mental treatment in her home country, as she was ordered to leave America within 48 hours. Her mother had broken the news that the actress has been forced into a psychiatric facility in New York.

In what came as a shock to many, Pakistani actress Meera’s mother claimed on Wednesday night that her daughter has been forcefully admitted to a psychiatric facility in New York. Zahra said that she last heard from Meera on April 5th when she called to inform her mother that US police is taking her to a psychiatric facility. Meera’s manager has however, rubbished all claims.

After success of Parwaaz Hai Junoon, more Pakistani films and dramas to release in China

Following the release of Parwaaz Hai Junoon in China, more Pakistani films and dramas are expected to be released in the country. The Pakistani films and dramas will be screened in China next year during celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Parwaaz Hai Junoon has become the first Pakistani movie that has been premiered in China in the last 40 years.

Pakistani short film ‘Darling’ won Best Short Film Award at the Venice Film Fest (VFF). Directed by Saim Sadiq, Darling premiered at ’VFF’s new Orrizzonti section. It qualifies as ’Pakistan’s first film to project in front of the oldest movie ’gala’s audience. Darling depicts the relationship between a trans girl and a young boy is a new concept altogether.

Pakistani filmmaker to make comedy movie on Abhinandan

Pakistani filmmaker and director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has announced to make a comedy movie on Indian Wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman. In the movie titled “Abhinandan Come On”, Shamoon Abbasi will be seen playing role of the downed Indian pilot. The movie expected to release this September was planned after Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi announced last week to make a movie on Abhinandan.

Iconic TV actor Zaheen Tahira passes away Tuesday morning

Veteran TV actor Zaheen Tahira passed away in Karachi at the age of 79. Tahira who had been ill since last one month, was admitted to a hospital in Karachi due to cardiac issues. She was put on a ventilator and was later shifted to the CCU. Celebrities used social media to request everyone to pray for her speedy recovery.
