PM Shehbaz has now directly responded to Imran Khan’s Twitter posts on various issues including blocking their flood relief telethon, and silencing pro-PTI journalists, saying they are busy with the rehabilitation of masses in the wake of devastating floods.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) took strong exception to recent remarks by PTI Chairman Imran Khan regarding the appointment of the new army chief, saying that it was “aghast at the defamatory and uncalled for” statement. The comments come a day after Imran, at a rally in Faisalabad, alleged that the PPP and PML-N wanted to “appoint an army chief of their choice”.

IHC suspends PEMRA’s notification banning Imran Khan’s live speeches

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’s (PEMRA) notification, banning the live telecast of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s speeches. The court suspended the PEMRA’s notification till September 5 and observed that PEMRA “does not have the authority” to issue such orders.

The Guardian quoted him as saying that the anger of Muslims cannot be taken as a justification for the assault.

Imran Khan directs Punjab govt to restore Ehsaas Programmes

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has directed the Punjab government to restore Ehsaas programmes in the province. Khan has directed the newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi-led provincial government to restore Ehsaas programmes, including health cards and Panahgahs (shelter homes). The National Security Committee (NSC) has said that there was no foreign conspiracy to topple the Imran Khan-led government. Reportedly, the NSC examined the “contents of the communication” shared by the ambassador and “reaffirmed the decisions of the last NSC meeting”. The meeting of the NSC, which is the highest forum for coordination on security issues, was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
