Pakistan’s World Cup dream comes to an end

Pakistan have been knocked out of the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup in England and Wales. Pakistan needed to dismiss Bangladesh for seven runs, after setting them a target of 316 runs at Lord’s, in order to qualify for the semi-finals of the mega event ahead of New Zealand on basis of a better net run-rate. 

“Need to be realistic, but miracles can happen,” Sarfraz on scoring 500

Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has admitted that in order to qualify for World-Cup semi-finals the team needs a miraculous 500-600 score against Bangladesh. The 316-run win seems unrealistic, he said, but claimed that Pakistan will try its best to at least win. Pakistan will play its final league game against Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday.

India might lose next two World Cup matches on purpose

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Basit Ali has claimed that India will deliberately lose their matches against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to ensure that Pakistan does not qualify for the semifinals. Keeping India’s performance against Afghanistan in mind, Basit said that Indian team will perform in a way that will not stir controversy, but will eventually lead them to lose.

Sarfraz will lose his job

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is of the opinion that Pakistan captain Sarafraz Ahmed will lose his job. Harbhajan said that emotions with India and Pakistan match are different and it can cost people their jobs. If Pakistan’s performance is not improved during the ongoing 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup, Sarfraz will be gone, he said.

Sarfraz claims players are lobbying against captaincy

The 32-year-old Pakistan cricket team captain, Sarfraz Ahmed has accused Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik for conspiring against his captaincy and willingly not playing well especially in the India vs Pakistan match. Apparently, the lobby within the team wants Imad Wasim to be the captain after the World Cup.

Boxer Amir Khan hopes to avenge Pakistan’s World cup defeat

British-Pakistani boxer Amir King claimed that he will avenge Pakistan’s loss against India in the World Cup match by knocking India’s boxer Neeraj Goyat in their upcoming fight in Saudi Arabia on July 12. Khan also offered to help Pakistan cricket team by giving fitness advise as he believes the team has talent but lacks strength and focus.

Armed forces to be deployed for the India-Pakistan clash

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to deploy armed police officers around the Old Trafford stadium ahead of the 16th June match between the two arch-rivals. The politically unstable relationships between Pakistan and India have required ICC to lookout for all kinds of suspicious activities for the most sought after clash of the World Cup.
